Cindy Ball is the Chief Community Relations Officer for Rockdale County Public Schools. As a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet for 19 years, she serves as the system’s spokesperson and is responsible for media and community relations, Partners in Education, district strategic planning, and the operations of Specialty and Choice programs. In addition, she supervises the School Nutrition Department, Central Student Registration, and the Office of Academic Programs. She serves as the district’s liaison to the RCPS Foundation and public health. Appointed as the Superintendent’s designee on the Rockdale County Board of Health for nearly fifteen years, she led the school system’s COVID-19 contact tracing and communication efforts during the pandemic.

She was originally introduced to Conyers-Rockdale County back in 1996 as the event manager for the 1996 Paralympic Equestrian Games and a venue logistics manager for the Olympics at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers. Prior to working with the school system, Cindy was the marketing manager at Rockdale Medical Center for a few years after returning to the area from South Georgia, where she worked for Satilla Regional Medical Center.

Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia where she and friends formed and competed on the first intercollegiate UGA Equestrian Team. She has completed several leadership courses including the Planning, Funding, and Budgeting Institute with the Georgia School Superintendents Association, Cambridge Strategic Planning, National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Youth Mental Health First Aid. She is a past president of the Georgia School Public Relations Association, a member of the National School Public Relations Association, a member of the American Association of School Administrators, and former member of the Georgia Hospital Public Relations Association. She was recognized by Congressman Hank Johnson with a 2023 Trailblazer Award during Women’s History Month.

Cindy is an avid equestrian and continues to ride and show hunter/jumpers. She and her husband of 27 years have two adult sons.
